The Watify initiative is an awareness-raising campaign funded by the European Commission, to stimulate the technological transformation of Europe’s industry. Watify organizes in collaboration with FIRA Barcelona, a matchmaking event on 3D printed electronics during the Barcelona Industry Week.
As additive manufacturing (AM) goes mainstream, it is increasingly possible to manufacture fully functional electromechanical parts, opening the door to innovative new possibilities in electronics design, production, and use. In addition, conformal - stretchable electronics can already be embedded in fitness trackers, smart apparel, and skin patches—as well as applications in complex supply chains that require on-demand manufacturing and mass customization. Analysts predict that 3D-printed electronics is likely to be the next high-growth application for product innovation.
A plenary session rich of insight from experts, ongoing projects as well as funding opportunities for companies embracing 3D printed electronics
Opportunity to initiate promising contacts via pre-arranged meetings. Learn how to get the most out of bilateral meetings in Watify matchmaking here (coming soon).
Opportunity to connect and discuss with peers in order to trigger inter-regional/cross-border cooperation. The Topics for the working groups are 1) Understanding the challenges to adopt 3D printing for electronics manufacturing; 2) Strategy paths for the adoption of 3D printed electronics - key aspects of product, business model and supply chain evolution; 3) In which type of applications can AM really surpass traditional manufacturing?; 4) Building electronics separate or within the part production process? Learn how to get the most out of working group meetings in WATIFY matchmaking here (coming soon).
